PRINTMAKING TECHNIQUES INTO COLLAGE

Explore a variety of printmaking methods with result on a variety of papers. Learn traditional block-printing, monotype and mono-printing from demonstrations to create your own stunning prints. Unconventional drawing and sketching exercises and multi-layered printing develop mixed media collage works. Discover endless possibilities and be inspired while working in a supportive environment. Sessions involve cutting wood, linoleum and rubber with gouges and knives. Careful attention to proper use of tools is encouraged!
Material fee: $20 paid to the instructor the first day of class.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate

HAND-BUILDING AND SCULPTING WITH CLAY
5 Mondays, October 16 - November 6, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm or
5 Tuesdays, October 17 - November 7, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Make a different project while learning a new technique each week. A range of hand-building and sculpting techniques (wedging, pinching and slab sculpting), in addition to glazing methods are all covered during this fun, intensive class. By the end of the term, complete four or more projects and gain a better understanding and appreciation of the ceramic medium. Materials fee for 25 lbs clay, glaze and firing payable to instructor: $35.
